PTHA is preparing to launch a new electronic health record (EHR) system — an important step in strengthening how we care for our community.
This upgrade reflects our ongoing commitment to honoring our responsibility to provide safe, coordinated, and high-quality care for our people — today and for future generations.
Why We Are Making This Change
An electronic health record system is the secure digital system that stores patient health information, including medical history, medications, lab results, and visit notes.
We are transitioning to a new system to:
- Improve coordination among providers and care teams
- Enhance patient safety
- Reduce duplication of tests and paperwork
- Better coordination of care with outside providers
- Strengthen protection of health information
- Improve the patient portal experience
- Support long-term growth of services for our community
This change helps us continue building a stronger, more connected health system rooted in service to our people.
What Patients Can Expect
The new system will go live on June 9, 2026.
We will have some closures, reduced patient appointments, and short-term delays.
During the first few weeks after launch:
- Appointments may take a little longer than usual
- Staff may spend additional time entering information
- Patients may be asked to review or update demographic and insurance information
- We will encourage patients to enroll in the new MyChart patient portal. The current Patient Portal will no longer be available.
- At check-in, we will take updated photos of each patient for their chart
We ask for patience and understanding during this transition period. Change takes time, and our teams are working hard to prepare.
Improving your experience
We are bringing in changes and technology to improve your experience, to make access to your records and health easier, to simplify virtual visits, and to give our teams more time to focus on you and your health.
Protecting Your Information
Safeguarding patient information is a responsibility we take seriously. The new system includes updated security features to help protect personal and medical information.
Preparing Our Team
Our providers, nurses, and support staff are participating in extensive training to ensure they are ready. Additional support teams will be on-site during the launch to assist staff and help visits run as smoothly as possible.
Moving Forward Together
Healthcare is about relationships — trust, respect, and care for one another. This upgrade reflects our commitment to strengthening those connections and continuing to provide high-quality care for our community.
