During recent soil work for our new building, preliminary sampling indicated the presence of asbestos deep underground. Immediate steps were taken to protect the safety of our staff, patients, Elders at the House of Respect, and the wider community.
You may notice red fencing and ground coverings around the area—these are precautionary safety measures, and we want to reassure you that there is no danger to anyone.
Out of an abundance of caution, we’re bringing in an industrial hygienist to guide next steps in mitigation. Environmental experts have confirmed there are no concerns about airborne exposure or water contamination.
