Flu activity is currently high in our community. If you’re feeling sick, taking a few simple steps can help you recover and prevent the spread of illness to family, friends, and community.
If you’re sick:
-
Stay home and rest as much as possible.
-
Avoid close contact with others, especially elders, young children, and those with weakened immune systems.
-
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow.
-
Wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
-
Drink plenty of fluids and eat nourishing foods.
-
Wear a mask if you must be around others or attend an appointment.
When to seek care:
Contact your healthcare provider if symptoms become severe, such as high fever, trouble breathing, chest pain, dizziness, or if symptoms worsen instead of improving.
Getting your flu vaccine, staying home when sick, and practicing good hygiene are important ways we can care for ourselves and protect our community.
